The term "Get them when they’re young" is almost laughable when you consider Mr SoNiK aka Luke Broadhurst has had 9 years at the turntables and is at somewhat of an advantage to other DJ's his age.

At just 10 years old he made his first steps into the world of electronic music and also owning his first synthesiser keyboard which embarked him to create his own music.

"I collected tapes & CD's from car boot sales that had different remixes on them and would try to re-create the same sounds which then inspired me to create my own sounds, I'd play around with tracks like Roger Sanchez's 'Another chance' and see what I would come up with."

Another two years on he started to DJ and got some vinyl decks and mastered the basics. At fifteen he was playing at Shine in Birmingham and from there on it progressed. More and more gigs and regular slots at Tidy, Storm, Frantic Xstatic, E:volve among others.

Were seeing SoNiK rising as a known and credible DJ, his biggest gigs to date are playing to over 1200 people at the Bulldog Bash (Europeans Largest Biker Festival), warming up for Lisa Pin Up twice, once at Blue and another at Party at the Pitch. Playing after BK, Headlining Funk Delux room at Space world tour and even landed a jammy back to back set with the Tidy Boys at Savannah's Ibiza.

He's also taken a 2 year music technology and radio production course and holds a fully recognised BTEC National Diploma in music Tech and a NCFE in radio production, he even obtained student of the year award in 2008.

His production career and engineering of his own tunes involve both solo projects and collaborations with some massive artists and already signed to labels, his track 'Fairy dust' signed to 'Killertraxs' label and 'Oh Yeah' on to Rodi Styles label 'Kung Fu Wax'.

SoNiK has been doing very well in his career so far, helping out by DJing to special needs children on red nose day in 2008, his input into the industry will surely see him where he wants to be in the future.
